Turkey Burgers

I am going through a LOT of recipes and making a recipe folder.  My biggest issue when it comes to what to prepare for dinner, is finding something my son will eat and is healthy or at least has some healthy aspect.  Last night we had turkey burgers and I have decided to post the recipe.  It was delicious - per my husband and I.  Skyler will eat it but with help.

What you need:

1/4 cup quinoa
1/2 cup water
1 garlic clove, crushed or 1tsp of minced garlic
1 pkg (20oz) ground turkey (beef will work too, I'd assume)
1 tbsp tomato paste (or ketchup)
1 tbsp hot pepper sauce (optional)
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 egg
salt
pepper
pureed butternut squash.

Directions

Bring the quinoa and water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat.  Reduce heat to med-low, cover, and simmer until the quinoa is tender, and the water has been absorbed - about 15 - 20 mins.   Mix all the ingredients - including the quinoa - in a large bowl.  Once it is all thoroughly mixed.  Shape the mixture into 6 turkey burgers and cook.  We cooked them in an electric skillet but you can grill them or do them on the stove.

Takes approx. 45 mins.

Makes 6 burgers.

Goes great with sweet potato fries!
